Knoxville’s Dogwood Trails
When spring arrives in Knoxville, the city’s streets begin to bloom with dogwoods, tulips, and azaleas. One of the best ways to take it all in is by following the Dogwood Trails—marked routes that wind through some of the area’s most scenic neighborhoods, known for their colorful landscapes and signature pink lines painted along the roads.
What Are Knoxville’s Dogwood Trails?
The Dogwood Trails are a network of scenic routes designed to highlight Knoxville’s spring beauty. Launched in 1955 as a way to promote community pride and encourage outdoor exploration, the trails have become a cornerstone of the annual Dogwood Arts season. Each route guides visitors through residential neighborhoods where homeowners take part in maintaining flower-filled yards and blooming trees.
Where the Trails Lead
A total of 13 neighborhoods across Knoxville take part in the Dogwood Trails. Each one offers its own look and feel—some feature historic homes, while others boast rolling hills and wooded landscapes. Whether you’re walking, biking, or driving, each trail offers a different way to experience spring in East Tennessee.
