Often referred to as “the quiet side of the river,” Lakemoor Hills is south of the University of Tennessee Medical Center and west of Alcoa Highway. Located across the river from Sequoyah Hills, Lyons View, and Lyons Bend.
Lakemoor Hills is a lakeside community of approximately 250 homes, some dating from the early 1900s to today’s new custom lakefront homes.
The community is convenient for those who frequently travel to the University of Tennessee main campus, UT Medical Center, the Knoxville central business district and Knoxville’s McGhee Tyson Airport. Alcoa Highway bordering on the east gives almost immediate access to each of the above as well as easy access to Interstates 40, 75 and 81.
The quiet wooded lanes with limited traffic, large manicured landscaped lots, miles of shoreline on Ft. Loudoun Lake , and distinct individualized homes are features found in this community. Within the neighborhood are several historic sites: McCarrell Cabin and McCarrell Springs, Speedwell Manor, Well Cemetery, and Rivermont .
As part of Knoxville’s Dogwood Trails, in the spring, the white and pink dogwoods, redbuds, and flowering gardens greet the visitors for the annual Dogwood Arts festival.
The area is currently zoned for Mount Olive Elementary, South Doyle Middle and South Doyle High schools.
